Outdoor Life - Flow
This is the course for those with desire to experience the elements up close and find that elusive flow.
Experience the surging river beneath a river-kayak whilst attacking white water rapids.
Experience sea kayaking enjoying the peace of still waters and the rush of surfing big waves.
Once the snow has settled, it’s up into the mountains for off piste snowboarding and skiing long untouched runs.
Build your own jumps and test your limits. Jibbing at the local alpine slope for novices and more experienced alike.
Snowboard and kite skiing on the inland plateau captures the driving force of the arctic wind.

Flow is for those who enjoy a variety of activities outdoors that give you experience, challenges and a sensation of accomplishment.
Floating on water and snow and flowing with the wind:
- Kayaking rivers and coastal waters
- Skiing and snowboarding powder covered Arctic mountains
- Jibbing and jumping
- Kiting on water and snow
- Surfing boards and kayaks
Autumn; Water and Mountains
- Lessons in sea kayaking leading to longer trips in the Alta fjord, the coastal bays of Porsanger and the islands in the Loppa Sea. Learn about the weather, wind, waves and currents
- Experience river kayaking learning to read the currents and choose the right attack. Canoe and kayak down the Alta river with several challenging white water stretches
- Practice your paddling technique, life saving, sculling and Eskimo rolls
- Camp on the beaches of exotic Sørøya Island at the verge of the Arctic sea. Introductions to kiting and wave surfing with kayaks and boards. Additionally sea fishing, bouldering, hiking and hunting
- Rock climbing and rapelling
- Undertake both solo and group excursions
- Gain orientering expertise chosing the best path through the mountains
When the sun sets in the north for the dark winter season we gain experience at the local alpine resort and then through daytrips
including constructing our own sites for ski and snowboard activities. We also prepare provisions and equipment for our winter expeditions. And much more...
Winter; Snow and Mountains
- Venture into the mountains on snowboard, telemark or randonnee-skis. Our playground offers extensive off-piste mountain slopes, including the famous extreme Lyngen Alps
- Learn how to build jumps taking advantage of the natural contours of the mountains
- Experience kiting learning control and the thrill of accelerating with the wind. Test yourself with jumps and tricks
- Go jibbing in the ski centre at Levi, Finland with its Terrain Park, halfpipe, superpipe, lots of runs and good offpiste areas.
- Design and plan your personal projectweek – the options are endless for yourself or your friends e.g. off-piste snowboarding or skiing at the ski centres in Narvik or Riksgrensen
- Learn essential survival techniques including assessing avalanche risks, first aid and rescue operations.
After Easter we pack our kayaks and snowboards and take off for a 10-day adventure into the magnificent alpine area of Loppa.
In April we await long sunny days with snow down to the seaside.
Venture up mountain peaks, undertake summit trips including to Finnmark´s highest peak on the Øksfjordjøkulen Glacier and snowboard down to the sea.
Witness the birdcliffs on the island of Loppa and kayak around the coastline. Catch your own fish for dinner.
You will get experience with:
- planning, execution and follow up of trips
- choice of equipment and clothing
- camping in all weather throughout the seasons using tents, bivouacs, snowcaves or beneath the open sky.
Close contact with nature is an important part of all our trips. You will learn to appreciate the many facets of nature.
Outdoor life means friendship, with responsibility and enjoyment.
Procedures
Flow is a course where fun and responsibility go hand in hand.
Whilst enjoying the flow you will take part in assessing the safety of our activities with respect to weather, wind, waves or avalanches.
Everyones’ experience and knowledge will contribute to you developing competance for outdoor survival.
